Meet the Baker

My name is Cindy Dustan and was born 63 years ago in the upper Midwest, Eau Claire Wisconsin.

As a child growing up in the Midwest  I was exposed to many of my ethnic foods such as Leffsa (a Norwegian potato bread) and the German Potato dumplings with tons of bacon fat poured over it.  I was always interested in the baking part of the inner-works of our family dimension.  Dad was the baker and meal maker of the family.  My father trained in NY at the Waldorf Astoria during WWII.  After graduating he enlisted in the Merchant Marines as the head baker.  He would bake for the entire ship, not a small undertaking.

After his time aboard ship ended dad started his family.  As a child and all thru my years at home we would wake up to 7 loaves of bread that was freshly baked thru the night.  I can still smell that wonderful warm bread with real butter on top.  All those years I would watch dad create all of the sweet treats and learn from the best.

In the early 70's I married my childhood sweetheart Greg.  We began our family immediately and raised three very wonderful boys, Christopher, Jason (JJ) and Keith.  Early on in our marriage I began a retail management career.  During my 39 years in management I would bake treats for my stores much to their enjoyment. When it finally came time for me to retire from retail management I still felt restless, I needed something.

My family spoke up and said that it was time for me to follow my passion of baking, start your own business Mom, "You Love It". They all said that it brought me great joy and inner fulfillment.  DO IT MOM!!!

So, here I am on a wonderful journey from childhood to semi-retirement.  I know my dad is looking down and smiling as many customers are enjoying some of his own personal recipes .

I hope you all will enjoy my home made Dezzerts and treats.  They are all made with love and joy .

Welcome to Cin's Just Dezzerts-my sister Jackie helped me name my business because she said that I am finally getting my "just desserts"-retirement and baking.  This is truly a family affair.
